Heaven & Hell: An I for
Ronnie. Time Warner Cable Amphitheater At
In this case the best I can do is add the taperís notes:
At long last, Dio back with Sabbath! Well, not according to the billing, but whatever the name chosen for this lineup, we know who it REALLY is. Anyway, what a GREAT performance. Unfortunately, "Ear In The Wall" and "Lonely Is The Word" were long gone by the time the group came to the States, but no matter. What they did play was well worth the fifteen year wait. Almost two hours of Dio-era Sabbath! The crowd overall was pretty enthusiastic and Ronnie seemed to reflect that in his performance.
The name of this show comes from a small mistake Dio made. During the keyboard intro for "I", Ronnie tells the crowd that next was "The Sign Of The Southern Cross". Oops! Tony goes over to tell him, um, no, it's not. Dio apparently had a different set list than the rest of the band as he showed Tony. He then apologized to the crowd, and then introduced the correct song. A rare mistake from a long time professional!
Three minor glitches unfortunately. I accidentally hit a button during "Falling Of The Edge Of The World" and screwed up the audio for about two seconds around 3:41, so I cut that part out. There's a slight "hiccup" at 14:24 in "Heaven And Hell", but fortunately not too distracting. The little click at the beginning of "Neon Knights" was in the source, but I'm not sure how it got there. My apologies for these. Other than that, the show turned out pretty well for the equipment that I had.
And before anyone asks, YES, I recorded Megadeth and Machine Head as well. Once I get several seeds running I will make those available as well. Enjoy!
