Heaven & Hell:
Description
To
be an open air festival, the sound is very good, a little bit bassy, but under the circumstances this one is great, the
performance awesome as usual with DIO anyway here are some notes from the taper
that you need to know:
Some good and bad news about this one. The good one is that this recording turned out better than I ever hoped
it would. The bad news is that is incomplete. I assumed that Heaven And Hell
would play for 105 - 115 minutes like they did in the US and Canada and decided
that changing discs during Vinny Appice's
drum solo would be the best solution. Said and done. Unfortunately it turned
out that several of the songs played overseas had been dropped for the European
set list, so I didn't have to change discs at all, or could have waited until
the encore break between Heaven And Hell and Neon Knights. You'll notice where
I changed discs during the drum solo when you'll listen to this. Too bad, but
quality wise I'm more than happy with how this recording turned out. Keep in
mind while listening to this that Sweden Rock is an open air festival which
takes place by the sea with some 25 000 thousand people present. I'll post a
few samples for you to check out.
Swedish
radio recorded the Heaven And Hell gig for a future
broadcast. Hopefully they'll broadcast the complete recording like they've done
in the past with Iron Maiden instead of the usual 57 minutes.
