Iron Maiden: Come and see the white Luke & Bytor. Bercy, Paris, France. 02.07.08
Decent recording from second night in Paris not wonderful but not bad with no problems on it.
TAPER’S NOTES: “My Master Series had ended with volume 137, but
I thought many friends would be interested to listen to my recording from last
night's performance of the Maiden in Paris. This was the second of a two-show
stay in Bercy and by far the best
of the two nights. I hadn't seen Iron Maiden live for more than 20 years and
did not follow then after Bruce Dickinson left. But it was great to listen to
this set with mostly material from the 80's and most of all to see a band in
its full energy!
Bruce speaks excellent french, so the introductions were quite hilarious. Some magic moments at various parts of show: I just loved The Trooper, The Number of the Beast, Moonchild and of course the early early Iron Maiden.
Soundwise, the recording is very good but I would not give a full 10/10. I was located just behind the mixing desk, at a central position, maybe a bit too far, but I wanted to avoid to be in the middle of the crowd and catch all shouts. So this recording is pretty clear and shouts-less but probably sounds a bit distant. You will be the judges if my work was good enough to please your ears!
This is dedicated to all the friends that came all the way from Italy to see the show and to all those who would have loved to be there!
