Iron Maiden: Lund '81. Olympean, Lund, Sweden. 09.09.81
Well this concert is known under the full name of Lund '81 Paul's last gig but that is totally wrong also the date on the covers is wrong, you can read 10th September 1981 and that was Paul's last gig but that one happened in Copenhagen, Denmark and not in Lund, Sweden the concert in Lund was 9th September 1981 (just one day before), you can check all this information at Robert Skoog's site who is in fact the official biographer of Paul so as you can Imagine he knows more about this than you and me together. I only correct some points from Ville's great artwork but the date is as he created the cover with the horrible mistake of the date.
The sound is really far from being a good one at the beginning of the concert sounds pretty awful but later improves a lot but only enough to consider it as a -7, it has some hiss and the volume is really low, also there is a half second gap during Innocent exile just 20 seconds before the solos and some minor distortions during Running free and others. Paul sang like if he had the feeling of being out of the band, so he is more punky at some points which it is at least in my opinion great he sounds more brutal than in other concerts and it is a really long concert with 18 songs, many songs for that era. The sound during Prowler is even worst.
Audience recording, Quality +6.
